I’m happiest outdoors and have volunteered with the gardeners at Great Dixter House and Gardens and at Sissinghurst Castle Garden as a woodland ranger, gardener and, now, photographer.
The ranger team does a huge range of invaluable conservation work from hedge-laying and coppicing in the winter, to planting trees, maintaining the lakes and educating local children about forest skills in the warmer months. I keep an updated diary of the Sissinghurst ranger team’s work for the National Trust website here.
